Before you visit
Patient Resources
What to bring, how to prepare, and where to find our test-specific guidance.
A few things that make your visit to The Neuro Lab smoother.
What to bring
- Any previous reports, scans or prescriptions related to your condition
- A list of your current medicines
- A government photo ID
Preparing for a specific test
Preparation differs by test — for example, an EEG asks you to wash your hair the night before, while a sleep study asks you to avoid caffeine and daytime naps. See the relevant page under Services for test-specific preparation, or ask us when you book.
Travelling from another district
Tell us your town when you book and we will try to plan your consultation and tests into a single trip where possible. See our FAQs for more on travelling to us.
In an emergency
Stroke and sudden severe neurological symptoms are medical emergencies. Call for emergency help immediately rather than waiting for an appointment.
Wondering what it will cost? Test prices and what is included explains what the charge for each study covers and how to get your figure before you travel.
Guides for the test you are booked for
Each of these answers the questions the front desk hears most about that study:
- EEG test preparation — hair, sleep and medicines, and why the first of those matters most.
- EMG vs NCV — what each test measures, and which one the needle belongs to.
- Sleep apnoea testing — what an overnight study records and how the night goes.
- BERA for newborns and children — how a hearing test works on a baby.
- Home EEG in Agartala — when a recording can be made at your own address.
- Choosing a neurologist — what to ask before you book, and what a first visit should involve.
- Test prices and what is included — what a charge covers and how to get your figure.
