Referral network
For Doctors
Referral information, test-wise indications and a dedicated support contact for doctors referring patients to The Neuro Lab.
The Neuro Lab works alongside referring doctors, diagnostic centres and hospitals across Tripura to make neurological consultation and diagnostics easier to access for your patients.
How referral works
Call, WhatsApp or use our referral enquiry form with the patient's details and the test or consultation needed. Relevant clinical history can be shared with the patient's consent to support the consultation or reporting.
Test-wise indications
See our Services page for what each neurodiagnostic test evaluates, its indications and what the patient should prepare — useful when deciding which test to request.
Digital report delivery
Reports are shared with you or the patient once reviewed and finalised by our specialist.
No financial incentive
We do not offer, and do not imply, any financial incentive for referrals. Every referral is handled on clinical merit alone.

Running studies at your own centre rather than referring the patient? Remote EEG and NCV reporting sets out how a study recorded by your technician is reported by our specialist, and what a centre needs in place first.
Test-wise referral indications
Common reasons each study is requested. Indications are a guide only — the referring clinician decides what is appropriate for each patient.
EEG (Electroencephalogram) +
EEG (Electroencephalogram) records the brain’s electrical activity through electrodes placed on the scalp, and is commonly used to help evaluate epilepsy, seizures and certain brain disorders.
- Epilepsy (মৃগী)
- Seizures (ফিট)
- Encephalopathy and other brain disorders (ব্রেন ডিজঅর্ডার)
- Unexplained blackouts or staring spells
Video EEG +
Video EEG combines continuous EEG recording with synchronised video, helping correlate brain-wave changes with what is physically happening during an event such as a seizure.
- Suspected epilepsy where a routine EEG was inconclusive
- Distinguishing epileptic seizures from non-epileptic events
- Characterising seizure type before treatment planning
NCV (Nerve Conduction Study) +
NCV (Nerve Conduction Study) evaluates how well and how fast nerves transmit electrical signals, and is commonly used to assess conditions such as peripheral neuropathy and carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Diabetic neuropathy
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Radiculopathy (spine-related nerve issues)
- Plexopathy
EMG (Electromyography) +
EMG (Electromyography) measures the electrical activity of muscles, helping assess how well muscles respond to nerve signals in conditions such as myopathy and motor neuron disease.
- Myopathy (muscle-related weakness)
- Motor neuron disease
- Radiculopathy (nerve-root problems)
- Unexplained muscle weakness or wasting
VEP (Visual Evoked Potential) +
VEP (Visual Evoked Potential) evaluates the visual pathway from the eyes to the brain, and can help in assessing conditions such as optic neuritis and multiple sclerosis.
- Suspected optic neuritis
- Assessing the visual pathway in demyelinating conditions such as multiple sclerosis
- Unexplained visual disturbance where an eye cause has been ruled out
BERA/ABR (Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry) +
BERA/ABR evaluates the hearing pathway up to the brainstem, and is often used to screen hearing in infants and to help identify conditions such as acoustic neuroma.
- Newborn and infant hearing screening
- Suspected acoustic neuroma
- Assessing hearing pathway function where a routine hearing test is inconclusive
SSEP (Somatosensory Evoked Potential) +
SSEP tests how well sensory signals travel from the limbs to the brain along the spinal cord, helping assess spinal cord and peripheral nerve pathway function.
- Suspected spinal cord pathway involvement
- Evaluating sensory nerve pathway function alongside NCV/EMG
- Certain demyelinating or compressive nerve conditions
Blink Reflex Test +
Blink Reflex testing evaluates the nerve pathway connecting the trigeminal and facial nerves, helping assess conditions affecting facial nerve function or the brainstem.
- Suspected facial nerve (Bell’s palsy) involvement
- Evaluating trigeminal nerve function
- Certain brainstem conditions affecting the blink reflex pathway
Single-Fiber EMG +
Single-Fiber EMG is a specialised nerve-muscle test used to help evaluate conditions affecting the neuromuscular junction, such as Myasthenia Gravis.
- Suspected Myasthenia Gravis
- Other suspected neuromuscular junction disorders where RNST findings are inconclusive
RNST (Repetitive Nerve Stimulation Test) +
RNST (Repetitive Nerve Stimulation Test) helps detect neuromuscular junction disorders and is commonly used for diagnosing Myasthenia Gravis.
- Suspected Myasthenia Gravis
- Unexplained fatigable muscle weakness, especially affecting the eyes or face
Sleep Studies +
Sleep studies monitor body functions during sleep to help identify sleep-related breathing and neurological conditions.
- Suspected sleep apnoea
- Unexplained excessive daytime sleepiness
- Certain movement disorders during sleep
PSG (Polysomnography) +
Polysomnography (PSG) is a comprehensive overnight sleep study that records brain activity, breathing, oxygen levels, heart rhythm and body movement to evaluate sleep disorders in detail.
- Suspected obstructive sleep apnoea
- Detailed evaluation where a basic sleep study is inconclusive
- Certain neurological movement disorders during sleep
Paediatric Neurodiagnostics +
Neurodiagnostic tests such as EEG, NCV, VEP and BERA/ABR performed on children, with the preparation and pace adapted to the child.
- EEG for seizures, blank spells or febrile convulsions
- BERA/ABR hearing assessment, including in infants
- VEP for visual pathway assessment
- NCV/EMG for weakness or suspected nerve and muscle conditions
